Board Member Bios

Brandy Billingsley - Co-Founder/President/Board Member

Brandy graduated from King's College in with a diploma in Travel and Hospitality. She has worked for the Disney Store Inc. where she has earned awards for guest servicing and headed up her store's "VoluntEARS" program. She then went on to work for Disney Cruise Line on the Disney Wonder. Here she received the President's Pin for guest servicing, Disney's Cruise Line's highest honor, as well as the Main Street Diary Pin from Lee Cockerell for having her story in the Walt Disney World Main Street Diary. Once she left the ship she went back into technical theatre where she could take care of her mom while she was battling stage IV lung cancer. Once she started working on getting Willow Haven up and running, she took a CE course, Business Essentials Not-for-Profit Management at Wake Forest Business School Charlotte. Now she is working on getting her Bachelors degree in Non Profit Management and then will work on getting her Masters degree in Non Profit Management. She knows how difficult of a journey battling cancer can be and wants to help other people through this time. In a two year time span she lost an uncle to stomach cancer, an aunt to ovarian cancer and another aunt to colon cancer.

Eric Billingsley - Co-Founder

Eric is a retired businessman. He has taken various management and training courses throughout his career to help him excel as a manager. During this time he served his country for eight years in the United States National Guard. He has successfully managed companies, help them succeed and excel in their business and has successfully started several businesses. He was a caretaker to his wife during her battle of stage IV Lung cancer and Brain cancer. He has lost two sister-in-laws and a brother to cancer. He wants to help however he can to make this journey a little less difficult for as many as he can.

Shirley Billingsley - Co-Founder

Shirley has worked in the banking industry her entire career. She has taken many classes through Piedmont Community College, Central Piedmont Community College and various seminars to help her excel at her career. Shirley has received many awards throughout her career for customer service, leadership and teamwork. While at her current job at Wells Fargo she has received the 2013 Certificate of Excellence Award, two Johnny Awards, which is the highest recognition for her department, and many other awards. Shirley is a stage IV Lung cancer and Brain cancer survivor. She has lost two sister-in-laws, a brother-in-law and friends to cancer. She wants to help however she can to make this journey a little less difficult for as many as she can.

Wendy Gram Brick, MD - Co-Founder

Wendy is Vice-Chair of Solid Tumor Oncology and Co-Medical Director of Survivorship and Integrative Oncology at the Levine Cancer Institute. She specializes in Integrative Oncology, Breast Cancer and Survivorship. Dr. Brick completed fellowships in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona and in Medical Oncology at The Medical College of Georgia.

Stuart Burri, MD - Co-Founder

Sean Ellison, DVM - Co-Founder/Secretary/Treasurer

Sean is an Emergency Veterinarian at the Charleston Veterinary Referral Center. He has received his Bachelors Degree in Molecular Biology and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He subsequently completed a dedicated emergency and critical care internship at the Animal Emergency Center in Glendale, WI and has been working nearly exclusively in emergency and critical care since that time. His passion for emergency and critical care medicine stem from his love of seeing patients through their most difficult medical circumstances and comforting them and their owners during these times. He desires to extend his focus on enhancing patients’ and caretakers’ level of comfort to Willow Haven Inspirational Spa and will continue to enthusiastically contribute to the organization of Willow Haven through his official duties as secretary, treasurer and board member.

Robyn Stratton - Co-Founder

A registered psychiatric nurse in the UK, with lifelong experience in art and a passion for art therapy. Robyn strongly believes in the healing power of art and alternative therapies as part of the process of recovery from cancer. She recognizes the need for a therapeutic space for patients and their loved ones to go and feel revived.
